Nona Mia announces grand re-opening

Nona Mia has re-imagined itself.  They are now "Nona Mia Market & Deli." The neighborhood Italian restaurant you've loved and supported for years will be a neighborhood Italian delicatessen, providing our community with simple yet soulful deli foods (and actually, more than just Italian, too). Sandwiches will be at the forefront -- all the old favorites that originally made Nona Mia a byword in Asheville for great lunches.

Nona Mia works off the basic principal that bread is the foundation. They will be baking all their classic Italian breads, using the 14-year-old starter that was born and bred right here in Asheville. And you can buy the same breads, by the loaf, that they use as the basis of their fantastic sandwiches.

Every morning at Nona Mia begins with coffee, pastries, and egg sandwiches made to order. A new offering will be a unique hearth-baked bagel that's a blend of New York and Montreal styles, and is unique to Asheville. Lunch and early evening offerings include classic sandwiches such as the ever-popular Rustic Italian: capicollo ham, sopresatta, prosciutto, roasted peppers, and Mozzarella cheese on our house-baked ciabatta. We will have meatballs, fried eggplant, sausage, breaded chicken cutlets, and house-roasted and imported traditional deli meats, along with all the classic accompaniments and daily specials.

All of Nona Mia's Neapolitan and Sicilian-style pizzas will continue to be available. Soups and hot food specials will be created daily, along with a deli case filled with chef-composed salads. Plus their pastry chef will have cookies, cakes, Tiramisu, cannoli, and the best gelato in Asheville.
