Mountain Housing Opportunities House Warming Benefit - Nov. 20th

HomeTrust Bank presents the annual Mountain Housing Opportunities (MHO) House Warming Party on Thursday, November 20, from 6:30 - 9:00 pm, at Celine and Company on 49 Broadway in downtown Asheville.

Tickets for the event at $40 for one and $75 for two and can be purchased at www.mtnhousing.org or at the door.  Biltmore wines and beer from Asheville Brewing Company will be served at the event, along with heavy hors d’oeuvres. Entertainment will be provided by Westsound Band.

MHO and Eagle Market Streets Development Corporation will also be honoring past businesses on “The Block” by naming each of the 62 apartments in the new Eagle Market Place after one of the historic businesses that no longer exists. Attendees will have a chance to sponsor these rooms as part of the fundraiser. These funds will go to help build additional historic displays, community meeting areas, a courtyard and other amenities for the affordable downtown apartments.
The benefit also includes a unique online gift registry that allows individuals to purchase a “housewarming gift” like 2 x4s to build a house, shingles to repair a roof, or make a donation to help repair or replace a broken furnace. The url for the registry is www.simpleregistry.com/mho2014. All proceeds from the registry and the event will benefit the programs and services of MHO.

Sponsors for this year’s event are HomeTrust Bank, The Real Estate Center, Eaton Corporation, The Urban News, WeaverCooke, Roberts & Stevens, Tise-Kiester Architects, Builders FirstSource, Insurance Service of Asheville, First Citizens Bank, Partnership Property Management, WNC Magazine, The Laurel of Asheville, Sheville.org, Asheville Savings Bank, Biltmore Wines, Asheville Brewing Company, The Brite Agency, and Gotcha Covered.
