Intern – Facilities Support Engineer

We are currently looking for a Engineering Intern at our facility in Erwin, Tennessee.
Responsibilities include:
·  Work under the direction of a Facilities Support Engineer to execute projects per standard policies, procedures, and good engineering practices.
·  May be given assignments in area of study to help promote real life examples.
·  Intern will learn how to define scope, read/ write P&ID's or other technical drawings, specify equipment and instruments, estimating scheduling, and preparing technical documents.
Minimum requirements:
·  Education: Majoring in a BS Degree in Engineering
·  Grade: Sophomore/ Junior
·  GPA: 3.0 or higher
Position requires U.S. Citizenship (and not a citizen of any other country) with ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.

Job Requirements:

Quality Engineer
Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS), a subsidiary of B&W,operates a uranium fuel materials production facility to support America’s fleet of nuclear-powered submarines and aircraft carriers. Located in Erwin, Tennessee, it also converts Cold War-era government stockpiles of highly enriched uranium into material suitable for further processing into commercial nuclear reactor fuel.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
•Participate in QA/ QC audits and system evaluations of manufacturing, laboratory calibration, security, materials, safety, ALARA, Fitness-for-Duty program, and vendor QA/QC programs.•Review and assist in the release of raw materials, in-process materials, and final products for shipment to verify that customer specifications are met.
•Evaluate quality data packages and prepare product certifications for customers, including support information for ARs, RECs, DSRs, etc.
•Draft Quality Assurance manuals, sampling plans, inspection procedures, and calibration procedures under guidance of the Quality Engineering Supervisor, revise manuals and procedures as applicable to reflect current requirements.
•Assist in maintaining a nuclear material vault that includes performing physical inventories.
•Assist in administering training and instructions to Surveillance Technicians and Quality Clerks.
•Assist senior Quality Engineers in maintaining a gauge calibration program. (The holder of this position may also perform the duties of supervising the calibration program in the absence of the Senior Quality Engineer).

Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
A BA/BS other than Engineering is acceptable with two additional years of experience in QA/QC.

Experience:
One-Two Years of relevant work experience is required.
