Position Description

We are looking to hire a part-time, 15-20 hour/week Office Manager to help keep our office operations running smoothly and efficiently. Our work environment is casual, fun, dynamic, technical, and multi-tasking with lots of variability from day-to-day.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Light marketing, website management, and social media content management (Facebook and Twitter), aiming to post approximately twice a week
  • QuickBooks/light bookkeeping duties, including: run and distribute payroll, maintaining check register, filing monthly/quarterly taxes, invoicing customers, chronicling job expenses, receipt filing, tracking sales and expenses, etc.
  • Office organization: establishment of electronic filing systems and hard filing
  • Process paperwork necessary for individual solar installations, including interconnection requests, Sunsense applications, permit applications, and NCUC
  • Answer phone calls during time in the office and light office cleaning

Required Qualifications

Detail and organization oriented. Process improver, problem solver, self-starter and able to function in a multi-tasking environment. Good, professional communication skills (written and verbal) and friendly demeanor when dealing with vendors, customers, other employees and good phone manners. QuickBooks/payroll experience. Word Processing, Excel. Social media experience (personal or business related).

Additional Desired Qualifications

·         Preferred candidate will have an interest in sustainability issues with an appreciation for supporting hyperlocal business.

·         Experience with small business tax filing a plus.

·         Basic website content management.

·         Event/campaign organization experience a plus.


Pay commensurate with skills and experience.
