Saturdays at ACT kicks off with "Imaginer" - Oct. 3rd

Asheville Community Theatre (ACT) kicks off their family-friendly theatre series Saturdays at ACT with Tim Arem’s Imaginer. Imaginer is a unique show that combines mime, masks, puppetry, music, audience participation and circus theater skills. Imaginer will be performed on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 12:00 pm. Tickets are $5.00 and are available for purchase at the door, over the phone, or online at www.ashevilletheatre.org.

Imaginer is brand new,” said Arem. “The stage show is a culmination of a 30 year career as a visual performing artist.”

Performer/producer Tim Arem is the man behind the highly popular Asheville Flyer for Kids publication. He also hosts his own weekly radio program, T-Bone's Radio Active Kids, on Saturday mornings on Asheville FM. Tim helped establish project magic with magician David Copperfeild and has performed with Harry Blackstone Jr. He is celebrated internationally with performing tours of Nepal, Thailand, Canada, Japan, Israel and Ireland. In the United States he has been featured In the Los Angeles Times and on Late Night with David Letterman, ESPN, NBC, and ABC network programs.

“I wanted to create something special for the family community of Asheville. This performance at ACT will be the premiere,” Arem continued. “My hope is that families leave the theater with a wow feeling of just being transported to a unique and fun place, having experienced some very cool visual things for the first time.”

The Saturdays at ACT series will feature six performances over the course of the season from different local producers and companies, including Bright Star Touring Theatre, Attic Salt Theatre Company, and Lisa Sturz’ Red Herring Puppets.

“Our Saturdays at ACT series is a great way for the whole family to experience theatre,” said Chanda Calentine, Program Director at ACT.  “Tim’s show will be one that appeals both to kids and adults.”
