Mission Hospital receives national recognition for women's health services

Mission Hospital has been listed by Becker’s Hospital Review in the 2015 edition of its “100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Women’s Health Programs.”

“Mission Hospital, on behalf of Mission Women’s Health, is proud and honored to receive this recognition,” said Kellett Letson, MD, Vice President and Chief of Mission Women’s Health. “The accolade reflects the commitment of our providers and teams to provide the highest quality care and support to women in our region.”

Hospitals and health systems were selected for inclusion based on national rankings and awards from several institutions, including U.S. News & World Report national and regional rankings for gynecology, CareChex rankings for women’s healthcare, women’s health Healthgrades awards, Women’s ChoiceAward’s Best Breast Centers list and Baby-Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA, the accrediting body for the Baby-Friendly Hospital initiative in the U.S.

According to the announcement from Becker’s Hospital Review, the organizations on the list are recognized for “award winning care to women in a variety of specialties, including gynecology, obstetrics, women-focused heart care and women-focused cancer care.” Mission Hospital is the only hospital in western North Carolina to be named to the 2015 list.
