RomanticAsheville.com travel guide begins 14th year



The independent RomanticAsheville.com Travel Guide kicks off its 14th year after a stellar 2015 with 5.2 million visits, up 50% from the previous year. What started as a hobby for founder and owner Mark File is now a comprehensive 750-page online travelogue that attracts visitors to the area from around the world.

The coverage area continues to expand and now includes 15 counties and 30+ towns in Western North Carolina. Both visitors and local alike use the many “best of” lists, including the very popular Top 60 Waterfalls and Top 75 Hikes. Other major sections include Biltmore, Blue Ridge Parkway and events. More than 2,500 original photographs showcase the beauty of the area.

New features include a daily calendar that is free for any organization to add an event. Through RomanticAsheville.com’s social media channels, the promotion of Asheville reaches millions more people on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and Twitter.

The guide will continue to grow organically based on reader interests and suggestions. All content is free for users, funded by advertising partners for lodging, attractions, dining and more.
