The Pack Memorial Library and OnTrack WNC Financial Education & Counseling are pleased to offer Raising A Money-Smart Child as part of the series of FREE financial education classes at the library. The classes are part of a nationwide initiative through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) which capitalizes on the unique role of libraries as places where people go for community and for information.
Raising A Money-Smart Child will be held on Thursday August 25th from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. The class will be held at the Pack Memorial Library at 67 Haywood Street in downtown Asheville. This financial education opportunity is open to the community and there is no charge to attend.
OnTrack WNC’s certified financial educator, Molly Coffey, will teach Raising A Money-Smart Child which provides easy to implement strategies to teach your child valuable life lessons about money from an early age through the college years.
“Today’s marketing inundates children with messages that promote the latest and greatest item or experience that promise to add fun and excitement to their lives,” said Celeste Collins, Executive Director of OnTrack WNC. “Parents are uniquely positioned to offering age-appropriate responses in those teachable moments when children and youth are faced with choices about spending, saving and giving.”
